From 2D design to TIM

Post by thouhidul32 »

Today, more and more companies are faced with the requirement to switch to the use of information modeling technologies. This often becomes a serious challenge for all participants in the construction industry: project managers, developers and experts of expert bodies are faced with unclear regulatory requirements, lack of technical support and a lack of competence.

BIM expert Ivan Truskov, certified expert of the Ministry of Construction of Russia for germany phone number list the examination of design documentation Sergey Dragomirov, and CEO of the BIM Academy Alexander Osipov discussed how to cope with such challenges. The discussion took place as part of the regular offline event BIM breakfast.

The first issue discussed was the course of action for a company from which the customer had abruptly demanded that they provide an information model rather than two-dimensional documents.

Sergey Dragomirov urged his colleagues not to panic and to pay attention to the fact that customers often confuse concepts. All sets of files that were previously transferred to them and sent for examination can already be considered an information model. The expert spoke about this in more detail earlier .

If designers are required to provide a three-dimensional model, then applicants must wait until the state regulator has finalized it and presented their requirements to them.

Therefore, the first step for the contractor is to find out whether the customer has the competence to work with information models. They should have a BIM department or at least specialists who can use the resulting model. If this is not the case, and the requirement for a 3D model is based on current trends, it is worth insisting on developing goal setting. In the absence of a clear explanation, you can continue to work in the usual format until mandatory requirements are approved by regulators.
