The Digital Pact for the Protection of Individuals is an initiative of the Spanish Data Protection Agency to promote a major agreement for coexistence in the digital sphere. Its objective is to foster commitment to privacy in the business models of companies and organizations, as well as to raise awareness among citizens, and especially minors, of the consequences of disseminating sensitive content on the Internet.

The principles of the Digital Pact also include promoting transparency so that citizens know what data is being collected and what it is used for, promoting gender equality and the protection of children and people in vulnerable situations , and promoting innovation by ensuring that new technologies avoid perpetuating biases or increasing existing inequalities, avoiding discrimination based on race, origin, belief, religion or sex, among others.

Documents that make up the Digital Pact
The Digital Pact for the Protection of People is made up of three documents: the letter of adhesion , the commitment to responsibility in the digital field and the Decalogue of good practices in privacy for media and organizations with their own dissemination channels.
By signing this agreement, entities undertake to implement the principles and recommendations contained therein, as well as to disseminate among their users, clients and employees the Priority Channel to request the urgent removal of sexual and violent content disseminated without consent on the Internet, and other resources and tools of the AEPD to help raise awareness about the value of privacy and the importance of the processing of personal data.
The Spanish Chamber of Commerce joins the Digital Pact
The Spanish Chamber of Commerce has joined the Digital Pact launched by the AEPD. This initiative already has the support of 40 of the main business organisations, foundations, media associations and audiovisual groups and represents a commitment to privacy in the sustainability policies and business models of companies and organisations.
