In July 2012, REG.RU received accreditation from ICANN, a key organization in the global domain industry. Several years passed from the time of negotiations on accreditation to the start of registration in international zones. We studied the specifics of foreign registries from scratch and, of course, it was difficult at first, since the Registration Rules and regulation in international zones are more complex than in national ones. We quickly learned from our own mistakes, but more from others' mistakes. For example, focusing on the statistics of "hijackings" of domains in international zones, we strengthened the security of REG.RU clients' accounts. Today, we register domains in 750 international zones.

Hosting as a second wind
Since the foundation of REG.RU, the driving force of the business has been domain registration. And although it seems that hosting and domain registration are related services, not all registrars also provide hosting.
