Dutch companies are being flooded with social enterprise platforms. Every organization with a sense of the zeitgeist is rushing to purchase a platform for its employees. The list of platform providers is endless, from the big players like IBM and Sharepoint to smaller local players like Winkwaves . Under the names social collaboration and employee engagement they praise their wares on their sites, referring to improbably high returns from American examples .

The IT departments have yet another task and usually approach this new challenge in their usual way: they invite a series of parties to a competition, submit a laundry list of required functionalities and request a demo that is tested by a number of employees. Then, aspects such as stability, security, version management and integration into the IT system are examined thailand telegram in detail. Ease of use also counts heavily, but this is a deceptive criterion, which I will come back to later.

After the procedure is completed, the platform is developed and rolled out. The internal organization is informed, a number of introductory sessions are held, tutorials are available and there is a helpdesk.

False start
Nevertheless, there is rarely a mass take-off. People come 'to visit', leave a small digital trail and stay on the lookout. A number of digerati use the platform to profess their digital faith to each other. After a while, the initial curiosity fades and the platform threatens to take on the contours of an empty and windswept square that people would rather avoid.

I could argue that the solution lies in an extensive program and process to support dialogue. Think of connecting to the strategic agenda, online and offline moderation, hotspot development, integration with work processes, etc. That is an important part of the solution, but not only.

Platforms do not comply
Platforms do not complyPlatforms are crucial to stimulate massive, organization-wide dialogue and exchange. But employees do not get excited right away. They already feel overwhelmed with information and channels. The receptiveness to embrace something new is generally low. Moreover, in their private sphere they have applications and tools with a high degree of attractiveness and intuitive ease that serve as a frame of reference.
