Which CMS should I use for my e-commerce site?

This is the question that CMOs and marketing directors often ask themselves about their CMS. Shopify takes a % of the turnover and the extra is expensive, WordPress/WooCommerce loads horribly if I add all the plugins, and my Prestashop 1.5 has problems everywhere… and if I update it, it's a party!

So, should I choose Prestashop?

CMS for clients at Roas Hunter
Currently, at Roashunter, as you can see in the graph, the most popular CMS is still PrestaShop, followed by Shopify (which is growing strongly), WordPress/WooCommerce, in-house developments and finally Magento (which also includes Magento 2.0). Other platforms such as Wix and Vtex have a symbolic and marginal representation.

So, should I choose Prestashop?
The answer to the question is it depends (Yes, yes, I know it's a hateful it depends)
Shopify
Shopify if… You are looking for optimal architectural industry mailing list loading speed, ease of use and configuration, the best conversion rate and you don’t need to bother with complex integrations and super-customized themes and you are willing to pay for every transaction.
presta1Prestashop
PrestaShop if… You need to customize your website, integrate it with a physical store, connect with PRs, achieve maximum security and for this you have a developer on your team, you are willing to purchase paid modules to achieve functionalities and you master your hosting so that a traffic spike does not affect your platform.

WooCommerce
WordPress/WooCommerce if… You want to be able to have your own e-commerce site, you are just starting out, you have a limited product/variant catalogue, and you want flexibility and agility in setting up and customising your store. Do you also generate content? Do you do SEO?
Magento
Magento if… Your product catalogue is large (more than a thousand references) and you need the most powerful platform, and you have a powerful development team to be able to get the most out of this CMS
Own development
In-house development if… the details and particularity of your business model do not allow you to invest in other platforms, and your volume is such that you have developers/partners that allow you to stay up to date with any changes and developments in the sector.
Obviously, these are not absolute truths by any means, and business variables undoubtedly determine the choice of CMS, especially integrations and PRs always condition the choice, as do editing and theme customization needs.
