Mobile phones are now the primary device for accessing the Internet in Spain, and the reasons for accessing the Internet are (in this order) email, instant messaging, and social media. These are some of the data collected in the study " The Networked phone number library Society ," the ninth edition of which has just been presented by the National Observatory of Telecommunications and the Information Society (ONTSI). The report analyzes the state of the information society worldwide, in Europe, and in Spain, as well as the Spanish digital content industry and the level of development of e-Government.
But it also includes a chapter dedicated to analyzing technological trends in the field of digital transformation, the changes we face in terms of technology consumption and usage patterns , and their impact on everyday life, the business environment, and public management.
The 9 key factors that will shape trends according to the ONTSI study1. Hyperconnectivity through a mesh of devices
Millennials now spend more hours connected to the Internet than they do sleeping, but this hyperconnectivity is not only due to smartphones, but to the proliferation of connected devices : smart watches, connected televisions, tablets, virtual reality... And it is expected that the Internet of Things (IoT) will add new intelligent machines to the home and work, thus giving rise to a multitude of devices that, although they now work independently, in the future will tend to increase their coordination and configure an immense network between them, which will cause us to start using the smartphone differently.
The digitalization of the automobile industry involves four major challenges: the transition to electric cars, connectivity, automation, and mobility-related services, such as car-sharing apps. Self-driving cars are expected to become a reality in 10 to 15 years . Meanwhile, tools and services related to driving automation are being developed at rapid speed.
