Avoid physical barriers that may stand between you and the customer – holding a hairdryer, cup, or product in your hands.

If you must hold something in your hands, try to keep them at about waist height.

If you feel uncomfortable, you'll probably start to lift the object in your hands higher and press it closer to you, increasing the barrier and signaling your discomfort. Look at yourself in the mirror. A hair dryer pressed to your chest definitely looks more cramped than one held loosely at waist height.

PRO TIP : Before the procedure begins, talk to the client about their expectations face-to-face, not through the mirror. Many beauty professionals will seat the client in a chair facing the mirror as soon country email list as they arrive and, even before the procedure itself has even begun, they will only talk through the mirror. This way, you lose real eye contact, it impairs communication, and the whole experience is very impersonal for the client.

How to impress clients with body language? Mirror your customer.

7. Mirror your customer
Research shows that we prefer people we think are like us. Mirroring is a trust-building technique that is based on imitating another person.

The mirroring must be subtle and natural, otherwise it will come across as insulting or mocking. It's more about imitating their energy, their mood, than the movements themselves.

According to body language expert Elizabeth Kuhnke, mirroring someone else's movements doesn't mean copying them completely. Instead, focus on the meaning of the movements and signals and try to imitate them.

Just as you can adapt to your client's gestures and expressions, you can also mirror their behavior, energy level, or temperament. For example, if your client is reserved and quiet, try to act similarly— avoid appearing intrusive.
