WhatsApp is once again the most used network in the last month and Facebook continues its decline
Although WhatsApp continues to lead with 91% (+4pp), in this edition of the study we can see several changes in the responses of users to the question of which social networks they have used in the last month. The first major change is experienced by YouTube , which rises from fourth to second place with 66% (+3pp).
This displaces both Instagram (64%) and Facebook (59%) by one position . The former drops from second to third position and loses one percentage point, while the latter drops from third to fourth position and loses six points. Meanwhile, TikTok (38%) climbs from seventh to fifth place, relegating X (38%) to sixth position.
Since 2018, WhatsApp has remained the most used social network in the last month , and since 2021 it has shown an upward trend, increasing its penetration year after year.
Facebook has not shown such a positive evolution . Meta's original social network had remained in second position until last year, when it was overtaken by Instagram, and in 2024 it has fallen to austria number data fourth place. Likewise, Facebook has been seeing its use fall since 2019 , except in 2023 when it experienced a timid rebound. And the number of people who claim to have used this platform in the last month has gone from 83% in 2018 to 59% in 2024 .

As for Instagram , this social network has always been growing (except for a brief pause in 2022, when it obtained the same percentage as in 2021, 60%), but in 2024 the percentage of people who mentioned it among the social networks they used in the last month has decreased by one point, standing at 64%.
TikTok has shown an upward trend since 2018 , going from 0% that year to 38% in 2024, which in turn represents an increase of six percentage points compared to 2023.
