Clusters are groups of similar keywords that satisfy the same search intent. For example, “bedroom curtains” and “linen curtains” generate similar search results, suggesting the same search intent. When keyword mapping, it’s important to assign pages to keyword clusters rather than individual keywords. This strategy reduces the risk of optimizing nearly identical pages, expands your keyword reach, and provides a full understanding of each topic’s search potential.
There are several tools, such as Keyword Manager, that allow you to identify these groups and simplify the creation process.
You can add up to five initial keywords to start your search. For example, “bedroom curtains,” “linen curtains,” and “blackout curtains.” Then, type in your domain and click “ Create Listing.”
In the “ Clusters” tab , you’ll find a list of recommended chile number data clusters and useful data such as the type(s) of search intent associated with the cluster, the number of keywords in the cluster, the average keyword difficulty score (a measure of SERP competitiveness), or the average monthly search volume.
Additionally, the tool allows you to view individual metrics for each keyword by clicking the drop-down arrow.
3. Assign pages to keyword groups
This step involves assigning a target URL to each keyword group in your keyword map. To do this, you need to analyze each keyword group and determine which page on your website best matches the search intent. Once you have made this identification, you need to add the URL of the corresponding page to the “Target URL” column and choose the “ To Optimize ” option in the “ Status” column.
