Keyword Planner is generally considered the best source of keyword search volume data because it comes from Google. How accurate is the data in Keyword Planner? There is one data source that is generally considered the “single source of truth” when it comes to search volumes: Google Search Console . If your website consistently ranks high on Google for a particular keyword, the “number of impressions” your page receives for that keyword will represent your actual search volume.
A study by Ahrefs showed that Keyword Planner search sweden email list volumes were “roughly accurate” only 45% of the time. In the remaining cases, Keyword Planner search volumes were very different from the impression counts reported in Google Search Console. But let’s not forget that Keyword Planner is a tool for advertisers, not SEOs.
Figure 2. Most of the search volumes in Keyword Planner (54.28%) are overestimated, and just under half (45.22%) are roughly accurate (i.e., do not deviate from Google Search Console “impressions” by more than 50%). Keyword Planner groups search terms with similar meanings into a single group and gives each one the same search volume. For example, “website creation” and “website creation” will have the same number of searches in this tool.
