Links placed in the header, footer, or side menu of the website are called “site-wide” as they appear on every page of a website . Webmasters used to crave such backlinks, but it seems this is no longer the case. All of our roundtable participants agreed that site-wide links can do more harm than good to a website, as such links look unnatural and can harm the user experience.
Noelia Regalado said she would rather have 200 different people say her website is trustworthy than just one person. At the same time, Ana Belén Leiño pointed out that site-wide links can be useful if placed naturally:
